Hope Notes 12/06/23

December 6, 2023
Hello Hoper,
Some time ago, I did a short study on the following rendition of Psalm 23. It had a profound effect on me, so much so that I saved it all these years.  I came across it the other day and thought that it would be an impactful thing to share in Hope Notes. Read it slowly and meditatively. Let the words sink into your soul.  May it bring a newer and deeper appreciation for all that we have in Christ Jesus, our Savior and Lord.
The Lord is not my Shepherd; I am destitute.
I long to lie down in green pastures, the waters are restless, my soul is void.
He allows me to walk on paths of unrighteousness, for He does not know me by His name.
As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear everything, for God is not with me.
His rod and staff are nowhere near me.
He has not prepared a table for me; I am alone with my enemies.
He does not anoint my head with oil; my cup is empty.
Goodness and mercy have no part in me.
I will dwell outside the house of the Lord forever.
All Glory to our Shepherd and King!

The Promise | WonderZone Christmas
(Gen. 3:15; 4:1; Luke 2:10-13)

Waiting for someone to keep their promise can be a frustrating experience. Depending on how well you know the person, you may have trouble waiting for a long time without doubting whether or not they are going to stay true to their word.  God made a promise to humanity back in the Garden of Eden – pretty much right after mankind rebelled and broke everything. That promise waited thousands of years before it came true. What was that promise and why does it matter to us today?  That’s what we’ll look into this Sunday morning!WEDNESDAY NIGHT BIBLE STUDIES:
On hiatus until the new year!

If you’re volunteering on a Sunday morning, whether its greeting, HopeKids!, in the sound booth, etc., please join us for a team prayer huddle! We want to gather together everyone who is serving on December 10th or 17th, to pray for the services. Meet at 8:30 in the GoZone!

Anyone can join us Sunday mornings at 8:30 in Pastor Mark’s office to pray for that morning’s services. Contact Bob Baumiester for more information (rbaumiester@gmail.com).

For the month of November, we averaged $10,479 per week bringing our annual average to $10,067.  This remains well above both our annual target for 2023 of $9650 and our target for 2024 of $9950. As we head into our final month of this year, we are excited for all that is ahead and grateful to the Lord for providing through the faithful and sacrificial giving of our church. We are able to effectively resource the ministries we currently have as well as begin to save towards a location with more space in the future. As each person at Hope contributes, our partnership as a church family is empowered to reach more people with the good news of Jesus!BIBLE READING PLANS: Out now!
We know that one of the best ways to deepen our faith and accelerate our relationship with God is by reading His word! Bible study is an important value to us, so we’re providing you with a few resources as you head into the new year! Check out one of our bible reading plans in the lobby. We have a bible in a year plan, plus two curated plans put together by Pastor Mark available on bookmarks. Or download a plan here!

In it we will take a look at stories in both the old and new testaments where God dives head first into the lives of his people culminating when he entered creation itself as a baby! Whether he enters the messes, joys, or every day lives of his people the Bible shows that God is invested and present. Join us and we learn the true meaning of Christmas, God With Us, starting 11/26/23.
