Hope Notes 07/19/2023

July 19, 2023

Hello Hoper,
God has created so many beautiful things for us to enjoy, but His most beautiful creations are His children. We may not all feel beautiful on the outside if we are judging by the world’s standards, but we should know that we are simply because God made us. Genesis 1:27 tells us that, “God created mankind in his own image”.  Psalm 139:14 reminds us we are ‘fearfully and wonderfully made’. That doesn’t leave any room for ‘ugly’, does it?  However, I’m actually thinking more about our inner most being, our hearts and our souls.  Inside every one of us beats a beautiful heart designed to be so filled with God’s love and mercy that it spills over onto others.  But if we don’t accept that love from God, we can’t share it.  We don’t always feel beautiful – we see our sin and our shame.  But we must remember that God sees us as beautiful and ‘blameless’. “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.”  (Ephesians 1:4)  The next time you are feeling ‘ugly’ on the inside, or even on the outside, please remember the beauty and the worth we all have in God’s eyes.  And truly, those are the only eyes that count!

“Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7) ~ Lois

SPIRITUAL CARE

SUNDAY MORNING MESSAGE:
God’s Promises | VBS Kickoff
(2 Cor 1:15-22)

Our favorite week of the year is here!  And we know it is going to be filled with fun and laughter as well as the power of God. As we get everything in place to welcome all kinds of kids into our VBS, we are reminded that God’s promises are sure. We know this is going to be a great week because we know that God is at work in us and through us for His Kingdom. Plus, the news we get to share about salvation is His passion.  We get to join with God in His faithfulness and rest in His promises for the week ahead. We can’t wait to see what God will do.

PRAYER HUDDLE:
If you’re volunteering on a Sunday morning, whether its greeting, HopeKids!, in the sound booth, etc., please join us for a team prayer huddle! We want to gather together everyone who is serving that morning to pray for the services. Meet at 8:40 in the GoZone!

SUNDAY MORNING PRAYER:
Anyone can join us Sunday mornings at 8:30 in Pastor Mark’s office to pray for that morning’s services. Contact Bob Baumiester for more information (rbaumiester@gmail.com).
